Debris lines and clogs the river in other areas of this riparian area as well.  The river, located in the foothills of the Santa Rita Mountains, runs seasonally with natural run off, but runs most of the year with reclaimed water.  The Juan Bautista de Anza National Historic Trail, a popular hiking trail run by the National Park Service, parallels the river in this area.  The wood plank once served as a foot bridge over the water.
