Occupy Tucson

Dominga Sierra (holding sign) protests, along with about 1,000 demonstrators who participated in Occupy Tucson at Military Plaza in Armory Park, Tucson, Arizona, USA. The Occupy Tucson organizers created the movement in solidarity with the Occupy Wall Street movement in New York and the Occupy Together movement across the USA. Sierra said, "I think that I am thinking of the children and their future because everything is so hard. There will be no jobs. I have 18 grandchildren and I worry about every one of them. I think that it is time to get together and fight for our rights. I always thought what is wrong with people. They don't get out and fight for their rights. I think that being out of work did it."..The leaders of this movement are the everyday people participating in a movement with many de-centralized goals, with an over-arching theme of protesting government corruption from corporate money and national income disparity. We use a tool called the "General Assembly" to facilitate open, participatory and horizontal organizing between members of the public. We welcome people from all colors, genders and beliefs to participate in our movement. ..
