KIDS IN DESERT

Borstar agent, Leon Stroud, says that he thinks the Tohono O'odham erected this cross five miles north of the border and west of the Baboquivari Mountains in memory of a deceased illegal immigrant from Mexico. When he first spotted the cross, a pail of diapers rested at the base. (PHOTO: NORMA JEAN GARGASZ)
