Asylum Seekers

Tucson, Arizona, USA. 9 Jan, 2019. Asylum seekers, who entered the USA from Mexico through the port-of-entry at Nogales, Arizona, receive shelter and services at Casa Alitas operated by Catholic Community Services of Southern Arizona, Inc. After processing, where adults were fitted with ankle bracelets and assigned a hearing date, the dozen migrants, including adults and children from Guatemala and Mexico, were brought to the shelter by Department of Homeland Security agents. After a brief stay at the shelter, they will travel to the location of their sponsor until their hearing date. Casa Alitas is one of many shelters caring for migrants.
